Stable ride at any speed, loaded or unloaded. Very comfortable and attractive. Backed by a great company. When I had a run-in with a taxi cab earlier this year that bent the top-tube, Co-motion replaced the tube and repainted the frame -- good as new (maybe better as I added the front light mount). Bliss is touring on this bike for weeks at a time in Europe. Most fun I have had on two wheels. My legs and my bike are again ready for the next adventure.
Be aware that many of the smaller stock sizes have toe-overlap, which is inherent in the shorter top tube needed for a comfortable touring bike. Had I been fully informed of this prior to purchase, I would not consider it a weakness.
I thought I'd update the review after a couple more years of tours and commuting. I am exceedingly happy with this bike. The stability and versatility of the frame is great. The component package is thoughtful. I would recommend considering an upgrade of the cranks and bottom bracket to XTR, also add a light mount screw to the front of the fork crown (for mounting a light under your handlebar bag). Consider a custom geometry, for few extra $$.

Many different bikes, an 80's steel recreational touring frame I used for many years. This bike was a huge upgrade in handling, comfort, and stability, gearing etc.

Stable, yet agile ride. Stock component package well suited to touring. Great gearing. Custom geometry for few $. Co-motion, the company, is very friendly and responsive to questions, requests. Great people. Perfectly adapted to Tubus racks & Ortlieb panniers (those work great too.)
Only complaint is toe overlap, but most touring bikes, with relatively shorter top tubes, suffer from the same problem. It is a price paid for a very stable, yet comfortable and agile ride.
Co-motion's Americano is a thougtfully designed loaded touring bike. The frame geometry and stock components, gearing, wheels, and tires all are very well suited to long-distance loaded touring, as well as frequent commuting. The bike rides very well, extremely stable, yet agile. Rides better loaded. The fork is superb, no shimmy, but yet absorbs shock. If you want a loaded tourer, or extremely durable commuter, this is a choice bike. Extensive research led me to this choice. One long tour and 6 months of commuting validate the choice.
