Strength:
Comfortable
Weakness:
Not waterproof. False advertising.
These shoes are not waterproof, and Lake won't acknowledge their falsehood. They just pointed me at the Event Fabric website which of course is more lies. I took a 2 hour ride on wet roads -- it wasn't even raining -- and each shoe had a half cup of water in them after the ride. You would think they would acknowledge this and at least change the description. These are not anything close to waterproof.

Strength:
Nice fit, clever design, light weight
Weakness:
Not even close to waterproof; complete failure when it comes to their intended use. Back to the drawing board for Lake.
This is a review for the Lake CX140 all weather shoe marketed by Lake as waterproof. Lake should be ashamed of this product, and it looks like they got the message; it has been removed from their website! The first pair I received leaked very badly and were sent back. Chris from Lake stated the shoe was defective and sent another pair. I rode today in a moderate rain for 30 minutes and my feet were soaked through again! I wear waterproof tights over the top of the shoe, so I know water is not getting in through the top. The shoes fit nicely and have a clever design with a BOA closure, but they are a complete failure when it comes to execution. Lake's quality control measures need a lot of work, at least as far as waterproof shoes are concerned. This is also a problem for eVent, as the use of their fabric in this shoe could cause them problems.
