Selle Italia SLR Kit Carbonio Saddles

DESCRIPTION

The feathery SLR Kit Carbonio manages to drop a few more grams for 2011 while incorporating a few new technologies for even better comfort. Like last year's model a minimal 30 carbon composite shell and braided 7x9mm carbon rails keep the saddle incredibly light with the added benefit of soaking up road vibration. SLR Kit Carbonio also uses the same proven shape as the standard SLR and a self-molding padding for a personalized body contoured fit. Available in Black or White. 131mm Wide x 275mm Long. Claimed weight 115 grams.

Strength:

Light, very comfortable and nice piece of equipment

Weakness:

Covering is fragile to damage

I have bought this saddle as a replacement of worn out Selle Italia SLR XP. The Selle Italia SLR Carbonio kit saddle is easy to mount and adjusting. It is also very nice bicycle part . I hate hollow saddles and after purchasing SLR Carbonio I was no sure if it will be enough comfortable to for several hours of road race on bumpy road. Fortunately Carbonio is one of most comfortable saddles that I ever used, and surely lightest. I can say that SLR Carbonio is much more comfortable than heavier SLR XP. The most shortcoming of this saddle it is vulnerability to damage. Although rails and shell are robust against impacts, but skin covering this saddle is very likely to be cut or break after you fall on the asphalt.

Strength:

Light weight. Leather cover.

Weakness:

A little concerned about the carbon rails. And the leather seems it may be a little on the too soft side.

Received this saddle from TotalCycling. As usual good service and fast. Installed it right away and went for a ride. Boy, it's light and comfy. Hope it lasts.

This saddle came with my Scott Addict. Took it off after a few rides because it hurt too much. Then I put in on my BMC road machine bike which is somewhat more forgiving. After riding it for 3000 miles it is the absolute most comfortable saddle and I have tried them all. Its amazing!
