Light, strong - made of one of the strongest & lightest grades of aluminum and forged the best way, I think its either 2014 T6 cold forged or 7075 T6, don't remember.

The bolts for the handlebar car, which they say have loctite, seem to come loose periodically. I was climbing once on the hoods and they slipped. Good thing is that the finish of my handle bar (R700 also) is kinda rough so my face didn't splatter all over. I might have not tighten them enough...

Nice and light. Good looking, but the angles might be a lil' high for racer types. Hard to tighten reverse sided bolts, but they (competitvecyclist.com) seems to say that a good thing. Oh well. I like it.

Replaced an ITM Millenium 26mm. (one of my all-time faves) with the R700, because I wanted the bars a little higher than the 80 degree Millenium would allow. The R700 is just as light as the ITM, and seems more solid in holding the bar (wider bar clamp). No problem holding onto an Easton EA70 and ITM "The Bar"- no squeaks, no slipping. Only gripe is when tightening or loosening the cap bolts, since they're reversed they're harder to get at with an allen wrench, but it's worthwhile to have the ability to replace the stem clamp if the threads ever strip out. Great idea.
