Strength:

Weight and speed are good along with a SUPER comfortable ride.

Weakness:

Weight of the stock wheels are heavy, maybe a new set, and it's a good thing the shifter was swapped, I can't even imagine living without the faster shifting.

This is the greatest bike I've ever had, I bought it used after my Cannondale synapse (aluminum) got stolen last summer and it has served me well. It's very fast and has great vibration dampening, and can ascend hills with ease. I bought it with a different derailer thats faster than the stock one, and that's good I couldn't imagine the ride without it.

Strength:

Ultegra group except cranks (Truvativ Rouleur Carbon) and wipperman chain, great frame, amazing quality and road feel for the price. Nice saddle.

Weakness:

Weight, while the Mavic Aksium wheels are good training wheels they are heavy, and the bike with pedals is close to 18lbs. Some light wheels and perhaps some other lightweight bits would be nice to drop the weight some.

This bike was on sale at the local performance shop for $1699.00. I test rode it and bought it on the spot. Sizes are limited but if one fits you then you are in luck as it is an incredible bike for its MSRP of $2300.00 and even better when you pay $600.00 less.

Road feel is somewhat muted but the bike is by no means dead, it holds lines well, is comfortable descending hills at 30mph, and soaks up bumps very well. Acceleration is good and the frame seems very stiff at the Bottom bracket. Schwinn categorizes this as a racing bike but I think it crosses the line between a plush and racing road bike as it has a nice plush feel yet is still fast. I would say its racing potential is pretty good for lower cat riders. If you look at the list of similar products used you will see I have owned "nicer" bikes but this one performs well in comparison, making it a great value. I wouldn't say its better than the other bikes I listed, but it holds it own among some much more expensive bikes.

Strength:

A consistently high level of components. A very comfortable ride on any surface.

Weakness:

The drive train is very tight when new and it does take a little time to wear in properly. Not necessarily a weakness, just a fact of getting used to it.

The carbon ride is very smooth. On brick streets and rippled pavement, it glides with ease. Sharp road bumps are a “thud” rather than a jab. There is however very little road feel, bike to rider. This bike is designed for racing according to the manufacturer. Shifting from the inner to the outer chain ring is like going from 2nd to 4th in your sports car. (I'm a 67 yr old casual rider for exercise). If you’re a powerhouse rider, you can really make this bike roll. Ultegra components are lightweight and shift well under load. Brakes are very effective.
Excellent stability and control at all speed levels.

LeMond steel frame with Sora components. New Litespeed titanium purchased a month before the Schwinn just to compare titanium with carbon frames.
