odo returns t 0 when battery is changed

got this one from price point very good computer, SMALL!!! The size of a domino. only thing i dont like is looses odometer when battery is changed,.total miles returns to 0. i paid $9 on close out I velcro"ed it to stem so i could remove it when shuttling bike,,has not fallen off after 20plus miles of rough trail riding
